Internal Medicine Insider Research Panel Privacy Policy

The Internal Medicine (IM) Insider research panel is an exclusive community of physicians, medical students and patients willing to share their insights about health care issues with the American College of Physicians (ACP). Through this research panel, participants have a platform to share their opinions and experiences on issues that are important to them, on products under development and on the products and services they use regularly.

The IM Insider research panel is developed and maintained by QuestBack on behalf of the Research Center of the American College of Physicians (ACP). ACP and QuestBack are committed to maintaining the privacy of this online research panel community. Your identity and the replies you provide to the IM Insider research panel surveys are completely confidential. All research reports contain only aggregated, not individual, information about the panelists.

You can be assured that protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your information is of the utmost importance to the Research Center of ACP and QuestBack. Panelist Information We Gather

The Internal Medicine Insider research panel gathers selected demographic information about panel participants when they complete the initial Registration Questionnaire and when they complete surveys. This information is included in panelists’ personal profile. This way we can send surveys that correspond to panelists’ specific qualifications and personal interests. The more we know about a panelist, the better able we are to direct to them surveys that match their unique interests.

Contact from the IM Insider research panel will be done via email and text message using the information that panelists provide us upon registration. Email address and mobile phone numbers are used to send invitations to panelists to solicit participation in upcoming surveys. It is also used for the purposes of I-points incentive fulfillment. When I-points are deposited in a panelist’s account and they wish to redeem them, reward notifications will be sent to the email address on file.

To accommodate the above actions it is necessary for ACP and QuestBack to store certain information about panelists’ computers. This information includes, but is not limited to, IP addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), operating system, click stream data, and whether you computer is enabled for Flash or ActiveX .

We also summarize information about the panel to develop statistics, ensuring that the panel is representative of healthcare professionals in internal medicine from across the country. Contact information is used only when we need to communicate with the research panel participants. Neither ACP nor QuestBack sells this information or shares it with any other party.

The communications that panelists receive from the IM Insider research panel will provide:

  • Opportunities to participate in our surveys
  • Notification of incentive (winning of raffle or I-point redemption)
  • Information about the results of our surveys
